Grace to you and peace, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ Our mission: To be a bridge to Christ through faith and service

Welcome!

A special welcome to our visitors and those who have not touched our lives more directly. We have put this page together especially for you as our way of saying "we know you're out there - and we want you to share in the great thing the Holy Spirit is doing in our lives."

  • If you are new in the area...
  • If you are thinking it's time to get back to church, but don't belong to one...
  • If you have never belonged to a church, but want to know what all the fuss is about...
  • If circumstances are requiring a change in your church home...

we want to be there for you -- we're already here! Come taste and see that God is Good!

What can I expect if I come to visit?

When you arrive, you will see our Ushers and Greeters as you enter our narthex (the area right outside the sanctuary). They will give you a bulletin (sort of like a program) that shows the order of service, and they will help you find a seat. Other than the choir loft right behind the organ there is no assigned seating; feel free to ask to be seated in any area that makes you feel comfortable. Hymnals and Bibles are located in the racks in front of you as you sit in the pews. We also have children's bulletins and activity bags that can help keep little attention spans occupied.

On a typical Sunday, we have announcements and a sharing of congregational joys and concerns, hymns from the The Presbyterian Hymnal (1990 - the blue one if you are familiar with Presbyterian hymnals), a prayer of confession and an assurance of pardon, a Children's Sermon, Scripture readings and a Sermon, a Pastoral Prayer followed by the entire congregation joining in The Lord's Prayer, an Anthem by the choir, an offering and Prayer of Thanksgiving, and a Benediction and dismissal. The order of certain features of worship sometimes varies. Services last about one hour.

On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. You do not need to be a member of Suffolk Presbyterian Church -- or even a Presbyterian -- to participate in the Lord's Supper.

Following the service we have a time for fellowship with coffee, juice, and light snacks. You are invited to join us after worship so we can get to know you and you can get to know us!
